Made it to the coast

Made it to Townsville from Winton Good road all the way, used the Kennedy Development road , better that most NSW roads we call highways.

Apart for a small section just before Stamford  , which I thought for a moment I was back in NSW, the roads so far are excellent.

Average passing 250 vans per day  ( 7 hours) heading back south before the heat takes hold.    38 -40  Longreach Thursday  now about 28 on the coast.

After traveling the inland route it has confirmed me as a coastal dweller which the old Labrador reckons is okay, Now have her in aircon kennel up the road a bit.

Well done out there! It's good to have an update of road conditions first hand.
The dog would probably cope with the heat better than you, but if she's found a comfortable doggy motel life's good. Now take care and keep up the fluids. No, not beer, just water, but you can go one for one - beer, water, beer - oh bugger it, beer, beer, water, beer etc.
Cheers Chris

welcome to townsville.best time of the year to be here.not a lot for tourists to do here, more a working town but still wouldn't live anywhere else. we're the opposite to you, would never travel the coast road again.but it doesn't matter which road you're on just as long as you're traveling somewhere.
