G,DAY Well we done it, started at Myrtleford (vic) on to Wentworth through to Brocken Hill, Wilpena Pound will be remembered , (well Flinders Rangers in general) then slowly back to Pt Augusta for the trip up the middle, always have to have a few days at Coober Pedy, then on to my favorite place Alice Springs then on to new country for us 2 . Well aint the Daly Waters Pub the bees knees ,had a ball . Mataranka thermals were a hit, but the party being held out in the scrub near c/p must have been a beauty judging from the yelling and swearing. Katherine gourge was great viewing, and again the thermal pool wernt all bad. Yellow Waters at Cooinda was worth the dollars Kakadu with a 2 wheel drive was soso but Darwin was a hit stayed a week should have stayed a month, new wave pool is a must for the young and not so young and dinner on the pier is a must. 2 other highlights was tour of the nation parks and my high time was on the Adelaide river kissing the crocks, what a beast they are. Back to Katherine to start the treak to WA with main stay at Kununurra. Done the cruise up the Ord to Lake Argile wow was that ever worth the bigger dollars, but what a waste all that loverly water just heading to the sea couldnt Vic and SA do with some of that water. On to Halls creek (ummmm) Fitzroy Crossing was great for what it is (we left the morning the only store burned down) Then on up to Derby, went to a Corobaree (um on spelling hehe) that was different and that tide aint that something. Couldnt get into Broome but nothing to rave about some nice scenery but. The drive from Katherine to Robuck Plains will live long in the memory bank PT Smith was great, well thursday night was the highlight $5.oo a head for a fish and chip night with an Aboriginal band and all invited games the fish was caught that day buy the owners of the park with every cent going to the R.F.D.S, i feel it is a must if your arround that way on a thursday. 80 mile beach thats a yep. Stayed a few at Pt Headland not my cup of tea (or bourbon)(or VB). Now Karigini Nationa Park is a wonder world not to be missed rated very high with us. Exmouth was hard to get a spot to camp or stay but worth the trip up there. Had to just drive into Coral Bay and sorta out no sites anywhere so on to Carnarvon that was a tick (what a taste has the WA bananas) Done the Monkey Mia bit but had to stay at Nanga Bay (that was fine) Kalbarri next stop now that was another spot for the scenery bit. On to Wedge point c/p great new park where things started to go downhill weather wise, not a drop of rain since Wilpena Pound, got the running shoes on and fled to Freo(silly us) gail force winds, rain, expected 120 k winds we were told to lower roof on pop top that was enough for Wendy, into unit we went next day fled to Albany a little better there, Esperence hit my fancy as did Pt Lincoln , then on our way home oops forgot the Nullabore not that that mattered couldnt see nuttin 181/2 thou later and home. fuel cost over trip$4000+, accom. about $3000 and guess what id go again tomorrow
2 very happy people WENDY & DAVID (alias dave, davo, or the drongo)
I enjoyed my week at Nanga Bay in the thermal pool. Monkey Mia has been most biggest disappointment in all the miles I've done over the years. Bunbury has a better dolphin viewing and interaction set up, for less money, and you don't have to pay to park. Was the weather too severe on the Bight to check out the whales? Pity. Seeing hundreds of Southern Right Whales wallowing and playing during their annual birthing and mating procedure is something you'll never forget. You did a lot of miles at a steady pace. Good for you. Will you do it again? Cheers Chris

Granny yes we would do it again in a heartbeat, ummm a lot less clothes ect I reckon I towed one ton that was never used hehe. Plus the other ton that Wendy amassed along the way as pressos for the tribe
Wendy & David, We know just how great you feel after coming back- we too did 50 weeks (yes fifty) in 2003/2004. Went from Brisbane up to Rocky then across centre to Tennant Creek then down to Port Augusta then digressed across to Canberra to see family. From there we travelled right along the coast road to Perth- Was wonderful! Right up to Broome then on to Kununnurra, Katherine back to Tennant creek and back to Brisbane. Saw an awful lot! BUT still a LOT more to see- we are now counting the days to go -ONLY 340 the on the road fulltime! We have the greatest and safest and most beautiful Country and are so lucky to be able to tour so freely in it. Hope we catch up with you all come August 2010. God we are all soooooooooo lucky aren't we? Cheers Dawn
Well done.guess we will see some pics soon, just to make us even more jealous. How long were you away for.? do you have an average daily figure for future reference.
