Is this a record?

Three forum members and spouses caught up for coffee today,
Gary and Kerry, John and Irona (JKH) and Dave (Smokeydk).
Has there been a larger gathering before?

I'd be concerned that if more than 6 ever gathered at the one place at the one time that ASIO agents would have to infiltrate to put a stop to the threat posed to National Security....

Yep. great to meet other grey nomads.same interests and dreams and stories of where we have been or would like to go. would happen more often if there was someway that we could keep tabs of where we all are at any given time. perhaps a seperate section on this site?

Hi there John ..

I've often thought of that too ..One possible consideration that might help .. would be that whenever someone makes an entry here, that they simply put a brief "location" at the end in brackets ..  like I'll do here when I sign off this entry ..
Its just a small 'habit' that could be adopted .. and doesn't need to be on every entry you make .. maybe just the first one if you do multi entries in each topic ..
Most other concepts that come to mind just seem to be less than practical ..
what do you think ?

Hi Jon

think its the best idea we have until something else is suggested.
have often wondered if other grey nomads are anywhere in the area and wanted a coffee and a chat.

Thanks folks .. and I've just used my 'signature' facility to simplify it all .. if on the road, then it'll be a manual labour of love .. heh

The only GN we have ever come across.........and that was before we signed up on here........was Dave and Dusty on the GOR last February and at the time we were wondering whether Dusty was human or canine...........now we know.........Dusty....man's best friend.

We fly the colours........a whole bunch of that silver gift wrap stuff that you can buy at the $2 shop.  It's been on "Fred" for about 3 months now even through the car wash a few times and still as good as new.

Never seen any one else flying the colours or in fact haven't seen any GN Stickers either.

We are spreading the word to any who will listen.  Hope all you GN's are doing the same.

I'm flying the Silver flag on Rosy and the sticker as well.
I have met a few nomads, the most recent was Jimbo.
I'm looking forward to meeting more nomads as time goes by. (good name for a song)
See ya all out there sometime, somewhere in the great outdoors. (good name for a TV show)
Cheers Chris

We have just returnd from a trip all aound Australia  (brilliant)! and everywhere we stopped we asked if they were a member of the grey nomads all gave a 'no' response - we met 100's of people and yet out of all those 100's we met ONE grey nomad! we too display our nomad sticker on the car and the van.  Always reading where people meet other nomads on this site but we must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, maybe next trip we'll meet more?

Oops, forgot to put where I am writing from, excellent idea, might be a  way of seeing  more nomads.

We found the same thing during our 6 month trip. The only GN's we met were those that was pre arranged.

Also sang the praise of this forum.
