Jan 2010 and the 5 year lap is getting closer. This started me thinking about medical matters. Due to past employment, I am very familar with the WA Health and Hospital System in the country. I carry a very detailed doctors letter listing medical conditions, treatment and and medications. The letter also has all my doctor's contact details. I have never had any trouble getting perscriptions from country doctors. Good ID and the letter always works.
However I am not familiar with the Eastern States systems. Anyone any advice.
Don't know about the rest of NSW but here in Ulladulla the letter you carry would be sufficient, with out Doctor anyhow and I would assume with the other Doctors in his practice.
Would like to think that any emergency department of the hospital would come up trumps as well. I think Milton Ulladulla hospital would.

Dosent seem to be a problem i lost /misplaced a script in both NT and WA and it was only a fax to get a replacement from here in VIC. Had a visit to the docs in kalbarri and again he just faxed my local doctor. Dave
When my mother in law relocated from Vic to NSW recently her Doctor down there put all her medical records onto a disc. The new Doctor up here said that was the best way to have all your records, scripts etc on hand and we aim to do this when we travel as well.
Most Doctors evidently use the same programme and it's just a matter of putting the disc in the computer and all necessary information is there.
