CAN'T FIND IT

Does anyone remember where the posts for the toilet additives instead of buying the commercial ones??

Think there was something to do with Napisan or some such.

Have done a search but nothing comes up.

Thanks in anticipation

Ma

Geez Ma, for a minute I thought that was Guru saying he had the same problem I have.....nope he looks too fit.......doesn't have a gut to look over, lol !

I had a search too but couldn't find anything. I have sent you a pm, it had to do with using a daily tablespoon of Coles or Woolies generic brand Nappi San equivalent in the top and bottom tanks instead of the chemicals or other products sold for the Porta Potties.

Guru might say he does have a gut, well suppose he does compared to when I first met him............but hey............it looks good on him..........so what if he needs a whole new wardrobe.  Most women would give their eye teeth for a new wardrobe but certainly not because on any increase..........shock horror........laughing.gif

Yep.  I've got a stack of my "thin" clothes that I call them.  Suppose after all this time I may as well give them to "Vinnies".   They are waaaaaaay out of date now anyhow.....laughing.gif

You will of course recall the "Faulty Eco Loo" which is right up Gurus ally, a man with his skills would find it a walk in the park...And it uses no chemicals ....

Neither can I find my original post on the topic.... However to clear the forum I ripped of a design from a German setup. Basically no chemicals are used, a small fan extracts air from the holding tank and this creates a "backdraft" and sucks any unpleasant odours back into the tank and provides oxygen to assist in decomposition of the contents. You are running a small sewerage treatment plant.....You can therefore empy your tank anywhere within reason as there are no added chemicals, just pure natural waste... But do not think that the contents are not "ripe", indeed there is a small active carbon filter to ensure no odours reach the outside world and I can assure you when you dump ypour contents you will do it in record time...
If anyone is interested PM me your email and we can discuss further.....
It does work and it's reasonably simple to make if you are handy, the German Kit costs around AU$400, all up mine cost maybe $50.....

Cassette Toilet

A Non Formaldehyde Waste

Dissolve 1 cup Borax in 1 litre hot water (not boiling), when cold pour into 4 litre

container

ADD 1 cup Pine-o-Clean or 1/2 cup straight  MYO Disinfectant

ADD 1 cup of straight Amomenia  (can be cloudy)

fill up the 4 litre container with clean water and shake well

ADD this to your cassette at a rate of 30 mls per 5  litres of tak holding  capacity

the amount will vary with temperature

Ma, The advice from this forum and another was "Nappy Wash Treatment" (generic) Coles is the best or maybe Woolies next but not Napisan. Comes in two or three kilos. Lasts forever. Two very level capfulls per my 18 litre cassette loo. It's all I've used. Works a treat. But it would be at leat  seven or eight months ago I put this question out.
cheers
