So sad to see a person pass away.As the editorial said the Leyland bros.were an inspiration for lots of folk to "get up and go".I live near the "Rock"and it is only in the last couple of years that it has had a bit of a tidy up.Plenty of space for an overnight stop and half a dozen fast food outlets and of course the service station. It is a shame that it never reached the potential tourist spot that Mike and Mal envisaged. The Rock is located on the Pacific Hwy just north of Karuah and about 35.klms South of Buladelah.R.I.P Mike Leyland.Cheers.Ibbo.
These guys were at the very razors edge in their day and I think spured on the rest of the TV adventurers. I noticed the "rock" getting a facelift last time I was up that way.... The railway from there was sold to a bloke at Nerriga and ran there for a few years then it dissapeared to where I know not...

RIP Mike. These were the Pioneers of TV Travle series in the outback as far as I can recall and got everyone's attention on just how beautiful the Ozzie outback was.
Hope to see the "Rock" one day, hope they keep it as a permanent memorial to them all.
