Best route from Rainbow Beach QLD to Wodonga Vic

We are currently parked at Rainbow Beach QLD and need to get to Wodonga in Victoria. Have had problems with our tow vehicle and need to find the easiest way, avoiding mountain ranges etc.
We are in no hurry, can anyone assist?

G,DAY FREDDO.

Log into "MAPS" u can plan your trip taking either main drags.
The NEWEL would be my choice of trave,l but either way ranges have to be crossed.

Nothing worse than mechanical difficulties. Would it be prudent to fix the tug before proceeding? Peace of mind makes the travelling so muc less stressful.
If it can't be fixed, replace it sooner rather than later, especially if you think it will struggle to get you back to Vic.
Even if you did get home you're still likely to replace it.
No matter which way you go there are mountains to cross, geographically and euphamistically. Save and happy, slow travels no matter how you do it. Cheers

You have my sympathy mate as we tried to get our sick Pathy home only to have it commit suicide out of Glen Innes.A phone call to RACV (we are in total care)and they took over and put us on a plane to Albury where our daughter picked us up and 2 days later our car and van was offloaded at home having been put on a car transport truck. Can't speak highly enough of the service. There is no way back that does'nt involve a lot of climbing and you are going to worry all the way. I wouldn't try and nurse it home like we did as it's not worth it,I would take Granny's advice and have it looked at before trying to get it back.
lots of luck and best wishes go with you..Laurie

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Without sounding like "experts" (we have very little mechanical knowledge, skills lie eslewhere) our problem seems to be electrical. Being members of RACV we also cannot praise them enough for their assistance so far. Numerious mechanics have been involved over the past month or so. As the fault is interminent, the vehicle has only played up for one mechanic and he could not get it to repeat itself.
Many $'s have been spent on "fixes" to no avail therefore we are hoping to get back to our mechanic who has serviced our vehicle from day one, can thoroughly go over the vehicle.
We did have a Steinbauer system fitted prior to starting our trip, the last mechanic disconnected it believing it 'could' be the concern with wrong info being transmitted to and fro.

we had a similar problem on one of our vehicles a couple of years ago, turned out to be a sensor, mongrel things to find when it goes wrong, very difficult to track down if only intermittent

I've had Rosy Landcruiser for 41/2 yrs believing it had a dummy immobiliser. They're compulsory in vehicles in WA.
The car always started with the ignition without having to immobilise any immobiliser.
The day I took the car to the knock shop for her face lift, the immobiliser worked after I dropped it off, and no one could start my car. No one knows where the little tag fits either. I still haven't worked that out.
I think these cars have minds of their own. Anyway, the immobiliser has been disconnected and by-passed, and the blinking red light on the dash is definitely a dummy now.
With these later computerised vehicles I think the more we add to them in accessories, the more they interfere with the original technology. Nothing is as simple as it used to be in the FC Holden or the AP5 Valiant I used to have.
Just take it easy on the way home, and I hope it all works out to be ok eventually, and your next trip is trouble-free.

If you don't want to negotiate any hills you probably have to go through Kingaroy and Dalby then down through Narrandera. I'm not sure of the gradients through Kilcoy, Yarraman and Toowoomba but you may be OK that way. Ask some of the locals at the park.

Gday
Murgon , Kingaroy,Dalby , Moonie to Goondiwindi then down the newel to Wyalong turn left and down though Temora Wagga to the Hume 10k out of Albury would be the easiest way there are no big long hard pulls though that way , there is 1 short hard pull between Kingaroy and Dalbu and another before Moonie but the rest is easy going .

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We are in Dubbo at the moment having crossed the worst of the hills.
The tow vehicle is purring like a kitten and all is well.
Cheers
The Freddos

PS We went back to the Stienbauer dealer in Dalby who discovered two exposed wires that would touch when the vehicle got hot. This had happened during the assembly process so in turn sent the wrong info to the computer.
