Just back after nearly two months in Europe (UK, France, Italy). Really good, but it is LOVELY to be home. And looking forward to caravan trips, a possible Prado and a new campertrailer. And NO jetlag. Spent a week touring the World War I battlefields in France, which made me very proud indeed to be an Australian. If ever you get the chance, GO, but take the tissues, because it is extremely emotional, especially the Australian memorial at Villers Brettoneaux, a lovely spot and superbly maintained (as are all the memorials/cemeteries). It is nice to return from a fabulous holiday and have no jet lag. Well done what is your secret? I get jet lag coming home from Perth! What a great lot of places you visited. The UK we have been to numerous times and France a couple of times but never to the WW1 battlefields. We have ofren said that would be a magic place to visit. Are the people as kind to Aussies as legend has it. Haven't been to Italy either but is on the wish list. Welcome home.

Hi Tony, nice to see you're back, -- and your front. If I cry in the Australian War Memorial, especially the Vietnam exhibit, I'd be a hopeless emotional wreck on the actual battlefields. I've had friends who've served in Vietnam and in WWII, but no one really close, but I find it such an overwhelming emotional experience, especially ANZAC Day memorial service. It must be my national pride and what it took to keep our freedom. See ya on the road somewhere in the new rig which may give you time lag, but definitely not jet lag - unless you're flying Virgin domestic and they're 2 hours late. Grrrrr......

Glad I'm not the only one jet lagged from Perth.....lol
Sorry if my mention of jetlag was confusing. What I meant was that grey nomading would not give me jetlag. In fact the return flight via Dubai left us both absolutely knackered. Got back Wednesday and only today do I feel almost normal. Have not done a long haul for about 15 years, and it certainly does not get better with age. In future, long haul is going to mean about 250-300kms a day! Had an old mate who used to say (with a wistful air): "I didn't know jetlag made your breath smell of whisky." Cheers, TonyD
