A mother and daughter are dead after they were beaten and shot as a result of domestic violence issues. The man shot the 14yo girl and bashed the mother and she died later. Rotten mongrel! This happened at Mareeba up on the Tablelands. The mother died of her injuries at Townsville. The Domestic Violence Order is a piece of paper not worth anything if it's not respected by the person it's taken out against. This sort of thing just gets my goat! I get so cranky that the law doesn't deal with these mongrels more severely BEFORE someone gets seriously hurt or killed. That piece of paper won't ever stop them. It's a joke, and these mongrels are so arrogant and controlling they turn up to punish the victims for reporting them. It had to be said. It's happening everywhere too often.

Couldn't agree more, Chris. It's pathetic to think that a bit of paper will keep vulnerable people from harm. I often wonder where these magistrates live: bloody cloud cuckoo land? The blokes who do these crimes should just get the 9mm solution. Applied just behind the ear, and angled slightly upwards, it ensures that they will NEVER offend again. We as a nation have become far too soft and politically correct, and we are paying the price for it. Sadly, with Uncle Kevin in charge, things will only get worse.

there is far too many goody two shoes in this world who would have the offenders rights upheld at the cost of the innocent
I deal with these animals day in day out, we send them to court with a uteload of evidence only to see it thrown out and the offender walking to do it again
the only way to stop some of these animals is a bullet, and I am not alone in that thought half of the coppers I know would love to do it, (the other half just want to beat them to death)

my colleagues have a dozen each x 30 that I handle directly and 150 that I handle indirectly, a lot of short fuses out there, just waiting for something to set it off
I agree! As a former victim of DV that piece of paper does nothing but present a challenge to the basher to beat the law, and the crap out of the "bitch" who gook it out. In the meantime the woman and the children live in terror every hour of every day. These perpetrators, and some are women, need to be actually punished and made responsible for their actions, and the penalty should demonstrate the consequences of their actions on their victims. I cannot understand why someone would treat the people they claim to love like this and inflict such brutal terror and injury - even death. It's mostly about control and jealousy, demonstrated by violence to build the fear these victims live with. By the time they realise the danger they live in, the mongrel has instilled such fear into them they are to scared to defend themselves and leave the house to seek help. No one understands until they've been through it. No one, and I mean no one gets it. No one can understand the fear and control which gives the mongrel total control over the lives of the people he professes to "love". They make life hell. It's not always about grog or drug abuse, but substance abuse is often the trigger. Taking these mongrels to court as everyone knows, is a total waste of time. By the time they've killed their "loved ones", it's all too late. The Magistrate who lets these mongrels loose should be charged with being an accessory before and after the fact. If they ever do get convicted and sent to prison the other prisoners deal out their own brand of "justice", and the mongrel never leaves upright. Not right, but from the victim's perspective, it's justice. Keep up the fight.

That piece of paper has never stopped them. I suspect it has always been thus. A bullet sounds good to me. I refer to civil libertarians and "do gooders". We have far to many of them.....and yes Chris, everywhere too often and only getting worse.
When I was first "educated" about such ways of the bloke I was sharing my life with, the Police didn't want to know. It was "a private matter". After a few women and children were killed, the law looked up from the books and set up the DVO. A serious, controlling, jealous, drunken abuser won't be stopped by that paper or the courts, even if it means he has to go to gaol for a while, as long as he "gets the bitch!" The woman he chose to share his life with. The woman who is supposed to be his best friend. The woman who shared her life with him and gave birth to his children. I still don't understand it. I just don't understand how a man, or woman can be so cruel to their best friend and parent of their children. And it is getting worse. I think the younger people are not taught to control themselves, or taught respect for their fellow man/woman, or to treat people as they'd like to be treated. They start out as bullies in school and just keep on doing it. But there is a person at the receiving end of the bullying who also has feelings. I just don't get it.
