Welcome to Nomads Percy.
I'll leave such advice and recommendations to those who understand power to weight ratios enough to pass on what they know.
I know how it works and applied the logic when I set up my rig, but I can't explain it.
Cheers and enjoy your stay.

Hi Percy,
We are towing a 17 foot van (nearly 6 meters) with an 05 Falcon and it has no trouble with power infact we often get caught behind Diesel 6 cylinder 4 wheel drives that don,t have the top end power of the big torque Falcon six.
How ever power is not the only issue here there is also weight factors to consider.
Personaly I would not like to go to much bigger with a Falcon, although we have a single axle van with twin axle it may be a whole different ball game.
I spoke with a chap in Kempsey who was towing twin axle 21 foot(7 meter van with a Falcon wagon, he was from Tasmania and said it towed like a dream and he had no problems.
It is a pity more don,t see fit to use localy built cars to tow there vans if they did it would sure help the Australian car industry.
I would say thou if you are going off the tar seal a patrol or a Lancruiser is probably a must.
Also I might point out the wagon an ute have leaf springs were as our car has independant
may be better with leaf springs. Also we fitted an after market Trans cooler for towing and bypassed the factory cooler (problem develop there) I consider this a must.

falcon can tow up to 2.3 tons check the label in the boot of any van you look at it give all details on how heavy the caravan will be empty and loaded it has simple has that, if you tow more than your car is rated you could void your insurance if you dont kill yourself first

2.3 tonnes is the max recomended for an automatic BA wagon, apparently for a manual it is 1600, it is up to you if you wish to take the maximum allowable, personally I wouldnt

if my cacckylations are correct the van would be 24 foot in the old money, could have some strife getting in and out of some van parks

however once again that is up to you but check the tag on the front of the van and if it is below your 2300 kilo tow max then hook up and enjoy, be sure your towbar is rated high enough to cope as well
