How on earth am I going to get Guru away from here.
For all you intrepid travellers: TwoBob said there was a little caravan park at Clairview. While the park itself isn't on the top of the tree the aspect is absolutely breathtaking. Crystal clear water, views to the islands offshore, peaceful, no road noise, oh I could go on forever. Just take the time if you are travelling the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Mackay to spend a few days here. You won't be sorry.
We might get to your place or to Xina's sometime in the future. Guru just came back to tell me that someone caught a 3kg Barra off the beach last week.
And you think we will be in Rockhampton Tuesday or Wednesday. You didn't say what week or month did you.

Nice spot we always stop there when passing through , dont miss the community centre at the rest area the local ladies do a nice hot or cold drink with home made goodies. when the tired is out you can walk to new zealand but you have to be quick
Yeah missed the Barra season but the whiting Guru is catching off the beach look pretty good anyway.

Had a look at Clairview on the way through a couple of months ago...seemed not a bad place to stop. Had a licensed bar and bistro I seem to recall. May stop in for a day or so on my northern migration next year. I also seem to recall there's free camping nearby.
