Congratulations and well done!
One has to persist with that mob. After 2 months they finally replaced my USB mobile internet card, deducted one month's account, and offered me a cheaper option. They did try to charge me shipping, but I have refused to pay it.
It's those Philipino Puppets which are so hard to communicate with if you don't have their script to work from.
Those calls cost a bomb, especially to the activation centres which are in Aust, but your call can go to any state.
It's the crappiest operation I've come across ever.
Privatising and no accountability are not a good thing for the customer.
The Executives and board members, and maybe the shareholders are the only ones happy with Telstra Bigpond.
I hate dealing with them.
You done good getting that out of them.

The shareholders can't be happy with it Granny............Look at the prices of the shares. Stll half or less of what they bought in at .......after how many years??

Other than that I agree wholeheartedly with everything you say!!

We've just returned to Telstra after a long year with Crazy john AKA Vodafone. Mate Telstra are heaven compared to that mob. Not perfect but as I see it the only alternative. Of course if you are having trouble with them I understand. Sorry to sound so positive it is just my natureLOL.

I have to be honest...........the ONLY thing that keeps me at Telstra is the coverage they have on their mobiles. That next G network has really been improved and I can get coverage in areas where others, on the other networks, get absolutely nothing. So when you travel, that is a good thing. Is it worth the headache that you get by being with Telstra.........To me yes??

However there is nothing attractive about their mobile pricing or extras. There are not a lot of bonus calls either. They charge like a holden alternator (heavy duty one at that) and their broadband pricing is crap too. It may also pay to be aware that Telstra charges for uploads as well as downloads where as most other ISP will only charge for downloads. Anything for a buck eh? Bigpond is not very quick either.

Internode here too. I get it through a mate who buys blocks from Internode so it costs me 10 bucks extra per month. For that I get absolutely no spam mail whatsoever and I can buy extra megs from him as I need them. Internode is the ISP that I recoomend to everyone!

Hi, I have just had a look at Internode's website and it looks as though they only do metro areas. have you had any coverage from them outside metro areas? I am hoping to do a bit of travelling next year in country areas and need a wireless internet provider that can service these areas. Is Telstra the only one that does that?

Internode aficionado's here as well.

We were with Internode for several years and then changed over to Bigpond wireless whilst travelling most of last year.

Bigpond wireless were good whilst travelling but paying $49-95 for 1 gig compared to $49-95 for 50 gig was a no brainer for us.

Now that we're home, we have changed back to Internode.

Cannot fault them!  worship.gif

Cheers
