Sorry disco, In a reply to Disco i stated that it was in NT, should read WA. I realised my mistake when i re-read my post, I tryed to edit it & as the nett service was on a very go slow to nothing i lost all service in the process, just managed a quick reply after an hour or so of trying.
Ive had many attempts this avo & tonight to correct but no service, must be a local problem as phone has been good. its just back on now.
Did not want to mislead anyone with incorrect info. Think i have NT on the brain as ive been thinking about next years trip.
Acknowledgement to Delta 18. Guys, I think have some pics here some where ,I,ll have a look tomorrow ,if so i,ll put them up for you.
Will let you know how i go.

Hi Justcruisin, you obviously meant crater not creator too, but who cares, we know what you meant and it takes nothing away from the awe of seeing the effect a relatively small object from outer space can have on the Earth's surface when it hits it a such an extremely high speed.
I guess the meteorite was the creator that created the crater......(I think I'll quit now before it gets worse)
forget it James, only a pedantic little twerp would pick you up for a blue like that
the long distance travellers amongst us picked it up instantly but chose to say nothing, if every fault was picked up then it would be a very short forum
dont take Ibbo's Mick, he's only got the one and he gets so upset when anybody nicks it!
forget it James, only a pedantic little twerp would pick you up for a blue like that
Heh heh, no worries, James I don't pick on spelling fu-uhs for the sake of it, only when it turns out to change the context of a post be (in my little mind) a bit amusing....
This is what I HAD liked about this forum, humor without personal attacks.

Can I ask of anyone who's been to Wolf Creek Crater, did anyone go down into the crater? If so, is the climate and vegetation different within the crater walls? Lucky it's not in an easily accessible location. It keeps a lot of people away and thereby preserves the terrain created by the meteor. And I don't care how you spell it.

had a read back neil and I can see where you thought I was having a shot, nope I wasnt, if you took it as a shot I apoligise
I'm back reaping and I havent had time to read all the posts, just sort of skipping through as I have a free moment, few and far between up here in the hills, nearly cleaned up the fence reading one of two bobs jokes as it is
we have climbed down in the crator and walked relatively close to the centre and it seemed a bit cooler and greener, may have been our imagination, a long way though, to see a few trees
quite a few folks when we were there, about 3 families from memory, it's a lot more accesible than you may think with the advent of the modern puddle jumper and camper trailers
Yeah.......Xina........I have seen it. The frightening thing about it, is that it is a true story!!.
It is a very good film actually. I rate it as one of the best Aussie movies.
Ever since I saw that film I have given up having break-downs in the outback!! Now when I look like having a break-down........I drive right past it. This little duck is taking no risks!!

actually it was Aggy who told me that one and this one
a blackfellow was caught chucking a mud crab in his boot by a couple of rangers
rangers "alright we got you, we seen you throw that mudcrab in the boot and it's out of season"
blackfellow "no you got it all wrong, I was taking my pet mud crab for a swim, I take it out everyday, give him a swim and he comes back again and I take him home, here I'll show you"
he opens up the boot and lets the mud crab go,
the rangers are waiting for a while and finally says "right wheres that mud crab, you know you're in big trouble"
