Renmark, SA update

Chris & I stayed at Plushe's Bend for about a week. However on he night of 9/12 (I was away kayaking for a couple of days), Chris was alone & there was havock with locals hooning around the campsite + itinerates having a drunken & wild night. With no security & little company it was a frightening night for her. We left a soon as I got back. I would not recommend this camp to anyone. Martins Bend in Berri has the security of a caretaker & greater peace of mind. Only 20k down the road. I have found the Camps 5 book not to be the Bible every one seems to think it is on other occasions as well. It is just a guide. cheers

well thats a shame but not entirely unexpected, camps 5 merely suggests sites that are or maybe suitable for camping, it is up to the individual whether to commit to camping or not

you must survey the surrounds and get the feel of the place before commiting to spend the night, hoons and problem fools are everywhere

a couple we know spent one chrissy down at a caravan park at moonta bay and were harrased all night by yobbos coming back from the beach

unfortunately fools are everywhere and are definately not confined to free camps

this was obviously a terrifying experience and one that I feel should not have happened, did you have the local police number, I am sure a call to them would have ceased the rubbish
