I love Dickens story "A Christmas Carol". My favourite character, Scrooge, and my favourite phrase, "Bah Humbug". Waiting on the family so I can Bah Humbug the lot of them then get down to business. Merry Christmas. sh*t didn't mean to say that!!!!

Went to the kids for Christmas lunch, no washing up and some free booze.  There ought to be a lot more of it, why else did we have the kids in the first place.

Merry Christmas Rolly.

Now El, keep some of that seafood for me.
So far I have a cray in my daughter's freezer, I've put an order in for yabbies from Waikerie, and if my luck is still running I'll get a feed of blueys.
How's my chances?
I had a lovely ham and turkey lunch - cold with lovely salad, just as an Aussie Christmas Dinner should be. Pudding and custard to follow. Accompanied by some Moet (moway) champers and yellow and pink bubbly. Very nice to share with friends.
I think I mentioned The Grey Nomads at least once or twice during the course of the day.

I'm sure my yabbies will be more discerning in their diet, but I'll ask each and every yabby what it's been eating over the last 3 months just to be sure they haven't cannabilised any unwary human bodies.
I should imagine a sight like that would leave a bad taste in your mouth.
That's life.

LOL Basil................!!

It's funny how things affect us isn't it.

Years ago there were two young guys that went missing from Ceduna. They were last seen at a cabaret at the local football club.

Anyway........marine and harbours divers found them about three months later still in the panel van they were driving. They had run off the side of the jetty .......down near the end. They were both full of blue swimmer crabs......picking the last bits off them. Well that turned a few stomachs on the locals, as many had been down on the jetty, netting the crabs!!

Recycle ........I say!!

These things certainly do affect you, years ago up Ceduna way the first Abalone diver to be taken by a white Pointer hapened, the sheller only pulled in the top half. Made a lot of ab divers & us recreational divers prety dam nervous after that. Some ab divers in Lincoln started making hydraulic driven cages to dive out of. Havent realy enjoyed diving for years untill Shark Shields came on the market, & they are made in Adelaide. The shark in the pic Was caught in the bay @ Coobowie Early 70s I was towing ElBe behind our boat looking for scallops wen this was caught. That left an impresion it was 11Ft .  Cheers Daryl

Gee Ducky I remember that. I was living in Ceduna then too. I believe the panel van roof had a furrow along it where ships had settled down on it at low tide.

There are a couple of shark vs ab divers tales from that part of the world.
There's always Rodney Fox - and I've seen his scars and his movie. He actually parked behind me here last year for a couple of weeks.
His son runs the shark viewing business out of Adelaide and Lincoln. They do Dangerous Reef and the surrounding islands, but according to him, the pointers were a bit thin on the ground last year.

Yes DeBe...........that diver that was taken was a good mate of the bloke that I used to go out diving with!

Fairly frightening situation I would say. In all the years that I dived....I never saw a pointer........other than when we went down in the shark cages........(How Lucky am I??)...........lots of reef sharks and a couple SMALL tiger sharks. But I know some guys that had close shaves. Being in the cages with the sharks swimming around was a real eye opener

Yeah Granny..........that was the van alright.

I don't know what your impression of Rodney Fox was but I wasn't really impressed!!

A bit like that Valerie Taylor...............filling up black wetsuits with horsemeat to see if the sharks would attack them!! REAL smart!!
