Loved visiting Uluru, we went there in 2004, hubby & I. It was on my list of things I most wanted to do. I was overawed when I got there hubby's remark shot me down to earth real quick. "Its just a flamin big rock!" Oh men you just have to love their descriptive outbursts now and again. Now I know why Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" That remark kinda summed it up in one. we head off permanently this year and hope to visit it again, I'd like to see it in a storm though next time, but I can assume hubby will not be too impressed. Just a big WET rock I suppose I can expect from him. He never was romantic in any way so can't expect too much I suppose . Though we are both looking forward to retirement with great joy. Nice photo Della I do have many of same in all colour changes from day to dark- great Spiritual place I thought. Cheers Dawn
I went there in july 2009, not impressed at all. All slanted to oversea tourist and not a real honest assesment at all IMHO. Millions of dollars raked in and non of it going to the people in the communities that need it. Now the Olga's are a different story all together, loved it and allowed me to get in the right headspace to understand it. cheers blaze
Hi Dawn, Sorry but I must agree with your hubby. It is only a big ROCK & even BIGGER when you walk around it.I also like blaze think the OLGA'S are a lot better.Oh by the way my boss thinks the rock is great.

ive been again since which was about four years ago hadnt changed of course, well i knew this lady across the road from me she was english her hubby wanted to go to the rock she was like why would i want to go tolook at some big red rock, well she said that she was stunned, enjoyed it thoroughly and said every australian should get to see our famous rock.
I also knew alady from cessnock who i still keep in touch with met her on one of our trips she showed me pics of the rock just days before we went i met her in Mataranka after she has been , it had rained and the rock had a waterfall trickling down it and it and the rock was grey and looked like it had mercury dripping down it, most amazing site, compared to what i saw, last time i went we watched the sun going down that truly was the most spectacular site, it was a blazing orange colour as the sun went down.
anyways everybody has a different opinion such is life hey :)
