I am slowly heading north to Bramston Beach in FNQ but ,making slow progress while I wait and see what happens weather wise. I find myself in Mount Perry in the North Burnett region and love the area. Arrived in Gaynda on the first day of citrus picking and met some interesting people, had a new thermostat put in my fridge and escaped the hoards next morning. Drove up here via Mingo Crossing through lovely country meeting many cattle and few vehicles. Plenty of water in the Burnett and considered camping at the crossing, but too hot and not enough shade. Here for a week and maybe longer so plenty of time to explore. Have heard there is free? camping at the new Paradise Dam. Will investigate. Keep your feet dry up there in the north. See you soon.

Thanks Helen. Yes it's very sludgy underfoot, or should I say, "over foot". I had to lock the hubs on my Japanese gumboots to get to the amenities block. It's rained almost full time for 8 days here in Cairns. And there's more on the way courtesy of former TC Paul, now a monsoonal rain depression, tipped to reform in the Gulf and do it all over again? Safe travel.
