we are joining all you nice people out there at last . have done 2 week trip to sydney as a test run ,now we are planning to head north thru bourke mt isa karumba cooktown and down coast to home warrnambool  8 to 10 weeks we think.commodore vx towing expanda 16/49/1 .went ok on sydney trip hope ok this time .any advice welcome on planned trip .i have picked up quite a lot of helpful information from forum but quite happy to learn more

NZ in a heat wave Glassies - way north on the North Island.
Yes, Cooktown is certainly a charming place, quite unexpected in the sticks of Far North Qld.
