LIGHTNING RIDGE.....MAYBE??

We leave Lithgow on Monday and head for Mudgee for the week.  Really looking forward to that.

Am trying to decide where to head after Mudgee.  Had thought maybe Lightning Ridge.  We only have 13 days before we have to drop the van back in Lithgow and head down to Windsor for the day on the 24th........bloody kids.

Is it worth the trip out to the Ridge with such a short time frame?

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

After Windsor our time is our own up till the 4th September.

Hi Ma,

If it was me Ma, I would be heading out to Minindi, the lakes are all filling up with water and thus attracting millions of birds etc.

This would be a sight to see as it doesn't happen very often.

Cheers & beers

Hi Ma
My kids and grandkids live at Freemans Reach. I have to do the 'Grandma" thing up there on occasions.
Cheers

Hi Ma,
Well worth the trip we stayed at Lorne Station just out of town. It has been improved a lot since then found every one there very friendly and helpful.
cheers John

Hi Ma. Fancy asking me about Lightning Ridge.!!!! Of cause if you can get there ...definately go. I Think you would love the experience. We normally have a few days at the caravan park ...then we go approx 70 k out to Grawin fields. We love it and think even for a few days, it's worth it. The bowls club is the place to eat. Cheers Dellie

Thanks everyone.

Dell,  our neighbours daughter and her husband have a claim out at Sheep yards, his name up there is Yogi and we thought we might head out and say Hi to them and maybe just park up for a day or two there.  We will see what happens.

Hammer thanks for the tip will have a look around there as well.

Allara and Tiger, I grew up in the Hawkesbury, Kurrajong actually.  Also lived at Freemans Reach when I first go married so know the area very very well.

Hitman, after we get the Windsor bit over with and pick up the van again we are going to head out to Minindi and who knows maybe head up the middle and see what happens when we get to Darwin.

Our time is our own from the end of May till September so we can pretty well please ourselves where we go and how long we stay.  As long as we are back to Caboolture in QLD by the 4th September for a wedding then the road is our back yard.

Can't wait.

Thanks again everyone.
