Can anyone give advice on Prado GLX compare to Prado Grande for towing a caravan

What year models are you talking about. I thought the Grande was just a GLX with leather (so as to speak.). If the specifications in the mechanical area are much the same then so will the towing ability.

There is no 'Grande' in the 2010 Prado line up.
It's been replaced by the VR and the luxury 'Kakadu' model.
The main deference with these two models is that they have "Crawl Control" and KDSS that first appeared on the LC200.
KDSS = Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System.
It provides maximum articulation of wheels 'Off Road" whilst still providing a 'Flat Smooth' ride on road.

Don't discount the Kia Sorento Diesel.
For the same money you may pick up a low milage 2007 - 08 model which have the same towing specs a the Prado.
