HOT WATER ON TAP;

Iv,e just finished installing a gas instant hot water system to our van.
Mounted unit on the A-frame, plumbed it to the existing flick mix tap on the sink with an external tap on the front, this allowes outside hot water & shower use if needed.
It is producing temps of 58/60deg.& fully adjustable from there down to what ever you want with water flow adjust, winter/summer adjust & gas adjustment. No piliot light or 12volt needed, So far so good, it will be road tested shortly.

Cheers.

Good luck with the hot water system, I will be interested to hear how it performs. We have considered one on our van but reports have not been favourable.

Sounds good, any chance of a photo or two? I was interested in the RV Ho****er unit which sounds good but pulls 13 amps , not much good when you're doing the Freebie thing

I first saw this type a few weeks ago while in the teritory, a mate from down here had it on his isuzu work truck which he also uses for camping etc,
It is a Mercury 6ltr per/minute.
If you google  [ mercury gas hot water system ] this will give you all the details & pics from a supplier, further down the page it said find this on E-bay with a link attached.this gave the same supplier at a much cheaper price.
As I,m not that switched on with comp, I thought I would just try E-bay direct, then homewares & hot water syst, there were several suppliers there with some listed as mercury, some as redrock & some as mercury redrock , all the same with different prices.
How ever first one on the list was the cheapest @ $174 plus $20 handling & post ,
extra $5 gave us registered post , so $199 to the door.
This is from their email, hope it helps.

hey just cruisin, we have one of them on the side of our house ,its a beauty too, we have the glass cyclinders on roof top for summer so free hot waterin summer but winter when its cloudy doesnt seem to heat them up enough they come with some sort of electrical booster, but our plumber wouldnt fit it for us and neither will our lekky, wouldnt put there name to it ?. so we went and got one of them gas systems for when its cloudy and then we can have nice hot showers

mind you the black glass tubes installed on roof are working a treat when its hot and sunny fantastic and no hot water bill?
