Anyone know

Hi, I'm booked to go north in a couple of weeks (From Tas), going as far as Mackay or thereabouts. Would like to go via Broken Hill, Quilpie and straight up to Longreach (Without deviating back east and up to Bacaldine) Does anyone out there know what the roads are like - are they dirt and what condition
Cheers
Pauline

You will be fine as far as Broken Hill. Weather will change conditions really quickly, so you need to check when you get there. Off bitumen can be yucky when its wet

Get the latest Hema maps to check which roads are sealed and which aren't. If planning to go via Tibooburra and Noccundra you'll need to check current conditions as there is much floodwater out that way at present. Via Cobar, Bourke, and Charleville would be a safer option but would cut out Quilpie unless you detoured there.

Other GNs may be able to give you better and more current info than I can.
