Hi all, we are new members and new to caravaning. We want to travel around Oz and wondered if any of you travel in groups from place to place? We are in south east Queensland at the mo and as soon as we sell our property, we are off! Regards.

hi and welcome sometimes people meet up. If you want company then you can always place a mudmap of your plans on here and if anyone is in the area they may get in touch. or do do as some do with their current location in here as a signature.

Hi Edge
Sounds like we have similar plans. We too are in SE QLD. We are currently shopping for a van whilst we prepare our house to sell. Hope to be on the road heading north in August. We hope to meet people along the way. Heard drinks at 4pm were a great way to meet up with fellow travellers. Keep in touch and hopefully we'll meet on the road.

Hi Edge
While travelling we usually travel alone, but meet people along the way, the main reason for this is`that we can change our minds if required as to where travell, but we have made quite a few friends from all over Australia. We find that people will advise you as to the stops worth visiting but have also found that we have visited locations that people have been advising not to go to and have been pleasantly surprised.

Hi, we are in Ipswich (not too far away), and excited at the prospect of heading off. Hopefully we will be up north by the time you leave. Regards.

Hi, we bought our caravan from Joes caravan Sales at Yamanto, Ipswich. We looked all over the country for a van but couldn't find what we were looking forand eventually found one in our own back yard...ha! ha! ha! Joes caravans is a small yard with very reasonably priced vans. They are a very nice couple who aren't Greedy to squeeze every dollar they can out of people. They will give you some discount if you barter a little. Good hunting...regards.

Congratulations on your new van. Some years ago we drove up and down the coast looking for our first camper trailer. Eventually found one only 40 minutes from home. Had it for a few years and upgraded to a pop top. Ive been a happy little traveller ever since. Good luck with the property sale and enjoy your travels.

Well done "Edge" on not only being able to buy van in back yard, but to be able to take delivery so soon. for us after trolling australian internet, we too found in our back yard (well, Kedron / Jimboomba), but we have to wait till Feb 11 for it to be built for us.
Hope to see you on the road - we hope to get off July 11
