We are currently looking to buy our first rig to travel around Aus for 6 to 12 months. We have seen a new Wolf Pup imported in from America. It was at the Brisbane caravan show a few weeks ago. Being lighter than many others, we could tow it with a Kia Sorento (maybe 2007 model, 3.3 or 3.8 ltr). Does anyone have any thoughts on either of these.
Wolf Pup. Made in the good ol US of A. I also had a look at it in Brisbane as did most of the dealers. Personally I would be running as fast as my chubby little legs would carry me. The price was extremely low for a shower van and one would have to ask how they can do it so much cheaper than everybody else including a mass builder like Jayco who have 49% of the Australian Market. And boy! Was it low to the ground. Those rear struts that were sticking down I feel would probably hit the road when entering almost every service station etc. Not to mention all the plastic piping etc hung low underneith. I would also be worried about the supply of parts if required. But at the price they're being marketed at they're sure to sell a few. As for the Kia Sorento (2007) they have an excellent reputation as a tow vehicle, especially the Diesel models. Cheers, ozjohn.

Thanks so much for your comments. They have made us re think our purchase. We are currently looking at something a little more stable. We found a Avan with 'reverse axle' I think it said. Not quite sure what that is, but it is higher off the ground about 6 inches, which is suppose to help when reversing. I think this van will allow us to visit more places. Only one more month to go and then hopefully on the road. Once again, thanks so much to everyone with your comments. This web site is really making us feel part of the group already, and we haven't even hit the road yet.
