LEE POINT VAN PARK DARWIN

As you know we are at the Lee Point Van park in Darwin and have been for the past three weeks.

Just a word of warning;   DON'T USE THE WASHING MACHINES.......GO TO A LAUNDROMAT.

I have tried 95% of the washing machines available in the park and believe me your clothes come out looking dirtier than they went in.

Oh well I guess not everyone gets to wear leopard spotted undies.  It's just not a good look on the white shorts and shirts though.

Apart from that the park suits our needs while we are in this area.

We head down to Katherine on Wednesday.

Sorry we didn't get to catch up with any of you that are up here.

Safe travels.

Planning a few days around Katherine Tiger and then on to Three Ways and across to Mt. Isa.

After Mt. Isa we haven't decided which way we will go as yet.  It's a case of waking up one morning and saying "let's go that way".

Will keep you posted.

Just between you and me (don't tell Rob)  I am looking forward to a little bit cooler weather - not COLD just cooler.

Have a great time in Katherine Ma.
Make sure you go to the hotsprings - down behind the caravan park - top spot.
Also the gorge is a top spot.........

Last year we stayed at Free Spirit out towards Palmerston, and the washing machines there were front loaders, domestic sized not the usual commercial type so we needed 4 loads each week instead of the usual 3. Front loaders need low suds detergent, but of course nobody was using that so the machines were constantly foaming over and breaking down, you had to hand rinse your clothes once they had finished washing to get all the soap out. Add to that there wasn't nearly enough machines to cater for the full park and you can imagine that washing day was a very fraught experience!

It's cool in Cairns. It's also been raining, well, drizzling quite a bit lately.
It's not as cold as down south, so it makes for a good night's sleep, but sightseeing can be a bit dim.
The park I'm in is now full, using overflow powered paddock last night and tonight.
"Mavis" will be smiling - at last.
If you're heading this way just phone ahead a day or two, and keep the appointment.

Soap powder residue and dirt is a terrible recipe in a washing machine. I wish people would stop using too much powder or liquid. Then of course they over fill the machine to get their money's worth, and nothing rinses properly.
If the park's maintenance including steam cleaning the back of the tubs once in a while, ithe wourld would be a cleaner place.
Safe and happy travels.
