darwin caravan parks

i know this is a bit of a dorothy dixer and that ma will probably answer it, as may well others.   i was wondering what the noise levels are like in the darwin caravan parks, as a friend and i were discussing it the other day.  (he is on his way there now), last time we were there it seemed that it was party central, with people either celebrating their arrival in the top end or boozing away their last dollars before leaving.  didnt get a decent nights sleep, and as you can see from my avatar i do like a snooze lol

I know this has nothing to do with Darwin but I had a similar experience in Echuca earlier in the year. The management couldn't care less, it was a long weekend and they had got their money. That park was not only the worst but the most expensive one on the whole trip to Western Victoria.

That's what this place is all about Petengail, answering other peoples questions and as such yes you are right I will answer.

From out experience Lee Point Park, during our stay anyway, has been quite good for what we want.

It's 18ks out of Darwin and 3.5ks off any major highway so the noise level in that regard is really good.

The "inhabitants" of the park at the moment, keeping in mind that it is school holidays in the top end, are rather quiet.  There are a number of children here but the parents seem to have a handle on other campers peace and quiet and keep the ankle biters in check.

From what we have been told Lee Point is also the cheaper option up here at the moment coming in at $240pw - stay for 7 pay for 6.  Yes it is a lot dearer than parks on the way up here, being the most we have paid since leaving home, but is supposed to be cheaper than some of the others.

There are other parks outside Darwin but we felt that they were just a tad TOO far out for what we wanted to do while we are here.

All in all our experience at Lee Point has been good, not counting the washing machines (see post elsewhere on here) and wouldn't hesitate to stay here when we come up again in two years time.

Just another point, Territory Day was 1st July and they go crazy up here for fireworks but there were no problems here and the management made it very clear that letting off fireworks in the park would result in immediate eviction and as such nobody let any off. There were plenty to see down on the beach at Mindil or Lee Point.

Re Echuca:
Bet I know which one it was, had the same problem 18 months ago, loutish selfish behaviour (and that was the arrogant adults), the teenagers were bearable. Would never go back there EVER again.
