Caravan park recommendation in Longreach?

After a recent bad experience in a park, I'd like a recommendation at Longreach. After clean amenities, good service  - 2 nomads no children

Why not try Ilfracombe Caravan Park, 27 kms east of Longreach. I stayed there about October last year. Clean amenities, friendly owners Katherine and Jesse and cheaper than Longreach.

Discovery Caravan Park in Longreach (formerly Gunnadoo C/P).  Fee in 2009 was $26.  Fee in July 2010 was $34.  What do we get for the extra eight dollars?  A concrete waterfall.  Ensuites if you pay a lot extra.

What DON'T you get?  No sealed roads - NEVER NEVER go there after 5mm or more of rain.  Their (boasted) intake is 400 bookings and over $12,000 a day.  For that we get a concrete waterfall and an absolute quagmire after a small amount of rain.

Their dump point?  Do you have a 4WD?  If not, empty it on the floor of their fancy new reception office.

A plus point:  This is NOT the only caravan park in Longreach!  Need I say more?

Jenny... only a couple of weeks ago, Roger and I were free camping a couple of k's outside of Longreach on the river. I believe you can stay for 4 days there. Plenty of company too. The night we were there ...so were 38 other vans. We were on our way to the Alice, via the Plenty. Good to be home now tho as it was sooooo cold out there.
Cheers Dellie
