Great to see you have your first official visitors Dougie. Way to go. Can't wait to hear all the news and await my turn with anticipation, just not sure when yet.
Blue is in his element, five yabbies in the trap by nightfall and great company at happy hour.
The only noise you get out here is the sounds of the birds in the trees and the wallabies jumping through the bush.
Dougie is probably the best host we have had on this trip, bar none. He came into Chichilla to meet us and show us the way. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at "his little ranch". The natural setting is just sheer tranquility. You can park anywhere you can put your van or motor home and the supply of fire wood seems endless. We were even supplied with a ute full by the time we had finished setting up.
This would have to easily be a 12 out of 10 for the ambiance and 20 out of 10 for the host.
Highly recommended.
One thing I should mention: YOU MUST BE TOTALLY SELF SUFFICIENT.
Doug only has solar power for his electricity and rain water so its a strictly BYO.
Throughly enjoying Ma & Blue's company over last couple of days on site. They excelled themselves & cooked a camp oven roast leg lamb & vegies & damper last nite, & for their first attempt at camp oven cooking it was 10 out of 10, so well done guys. I even got to share the delightful roast meal but let Blue eat his dozen or so yabbies himself.
Well Dougie, your generosity as a host the tranquil setting of your "ponderosa" now means that you will have us for a few more days at least. We are enjoying ourselves so much you might wish you never extended the invitation as we aren't planning on moving out just yet. Thanks again.
As for the weather, certainly NOT cold, a couple of showers of rain but that's OK and we have enough firewood to last for years soooo...............
