Gidday All Camps book 2 site 219 shows a freecamp site at Milang Foreshore, Lake Alexandrina, Has anyone been there ! is it any good [ self sufficient ] and what chance of finding a spot for two weeks from Boxing Day onwards any feedback at all appreciated.
Only area I can think of is a gravel carpark on the forshore.next to a lawned area with toilet block...its in front of the Milang Caravan Park.....opposite the shacks..I'm going to the fire station tonight..will ask...Ok
Thanks Smokey, i have given up on the freecamp, as my campsbook is No2 which is way out of date [ don't you hate progress !! ] i am now going to try the caravan park on the foreshore, do you know if it is any good !!! thanks for your effort Regards Dazren.
I don't know about the camp, but I don't think there's any water in the lake. The camp may be good without the lake, but it would be a bonus I'd think.

Theres water in the lake.......the CP is nice...basic but clean....for your info...free camping on the forshore...has been prohibited for the last 8 years..theres signs everywhere now..I looked last night for you
Dazren, we can vouch for the Milang CP -- stayed there for two weeks last year and enjoyed every minute, even though the water was then at least 200 m from the shoreline. We also enjoyed watching the kite-boarders - about 20 of them, way out on the water and based on a large sand bar. There's still some lovely scenery there, but I'd book ahead as I think it's fairly popular.
Cheers - Andrea

No doubt about you Dave...your a real wizz kid.. Amazing how you can store so much information, still be involved with the CFS and find the odd occassion to travel.. I believe all the Daves in the world have a strong and friendly charcter...ie Dave06...miss that bloke too !
Joy and Jillian are great Host's and foundation members of the Oz Parks Chain. I've always enjoyed my stays at Milang and the meals and friendliness of the Pub opposite. Remember, Oz Parks members get a 10% discount up to $25 per week. The longer you stay the bigger the discount and all for only $20 for 2 years. ozjohn.
