Stanage Bay - North or Rockhampton QLD

Hi all.   We are off to Stanage bay for 2 - 3 weeks mid september.   We havent been to Stanage before, and while we realise that we have to take our own drinking water, so, that  shouldnt be much of a a problem as I much prefer beer.  Intend taking the tinny collapasable trailer and crab pots etc.  Can anyone advise if there is rough water for showering, washing clothes etc, available.   Any other info would be much appreciated also.   Cheers and thanks - Pete

When I was there a few years ago, there was a rainwater tank at the Plumtree camping area, just across from the pub, but make sure your suspension is strong as the road in is very rough and has corugations and bull dust. The fishing there is great with lots of crabs and big jewies out in the channel- beware the tides are up to 7m! also take some sandfly repellent as they can be fierce. If you have a 4wd , drive to the top of the hill as you come into town - you can see for miles, with islands as far as the eye can see.
