AN INTERESTING FACT ABOUT  AUGUST 2010.

THIS AUGUST HAS 5 SUNDAYS, 5 MONDAYS, AND 5 TUESDAYS. ALL IN ONE MONTH.

IT HAPPENS ONCE  ONLY IN 823 YEARS.

We should be able to get a lot done this month, maybe!

Nope nuthin, nada, zip, zilch, sfa, extra here......

Truck is back in the dealers, still trying to sort out the engine management issue, so far they have blamed;

Fuel, Carbon build up, spotties (fitted as per the law with relay and switch & fuse), GPS, UHF radio, mobile phone charger cradle, dual battery setup (installed by a qualified installer) and thats not the end of the list...

I stripped the spotty wiring harness out and disconnected the dual battery connection at the main battery then took it in to the dealers again yesterday, they still complained because I hadnt disconnected the uhf which is hard wired to the internal cigarette lighter that only gets used to charge the mobile.

Oxygen thieves is the best description I can use here without being profane........sorry for hijacking the thread guys.....

Now there are extra days so get back to it an make it happen......... LOL

I have a Ford and I refuse to take it to the dealers as they let the apprentice work unsupervised on it.

Know what you mean, John. I used to take my Magna to Mitsubishi for servicing. There was ALWAYS something expensive wrong with it. Then I took it to my local Kmart place ... and guess what, it's never needed anything out of the ordinary. Funny, that.
Cheers, Tony

Hi Grumps

Better to insure it & just leave the keys in. Someone will take it off your hands!!
Problem solved.

Dead right there Tony, I have a bloke come to the house to do my servicing and such and he does a damned good job at a fraction of the cost and I can stand and watch him to make sure he doesn't forget anything.

Ford had 3 goes at fixing an oil leak at the timing case and failed miserably, all at great expense to yours truly, mobile bloke fixed it first time around, again at a fraction of the cost.
Regards.
John

Only a grey nomad would have the time to  research this bit of trivia.  Some of us on the other hand, still have to go to work and face the fact that there are in 5 mondays and 5 tuesdays in Augustg 2010, More to the point, there are mondays and tuesdays in every months, and Mr & Mrs dunmowin still have to go to work on them....;.

How many of you have had the SMS and email regarding this trivia, with the tack on at the end telling you if you dont send it to 8 people by the week end you will have bad luck on Saturday....??

Well I reckon its a crock of $h1t my self but anyways this means my Sat is definately stuffed, cant get any worse than it has been for the past month or so being stuck here in Sydney.

As for the truck, it came home Monday and goes back in again Thursday, what really peeves me is that I have spoken to the selling dealers service manager and he told me that there is a known fault with the EGR which my symptoms indicate. They dealer here in Syd isn't interested in any advice and is now just plain rude, and the local head office is no better.

If the part wasnt $770 I would get it done elsewhere and pay for it myself.

Grrrrrrr livid is becoming a normal state of mind for me.....
