If it's not that, would it be one of the gorges in the Karrigini National Park in the Pilbara of WA?
Indeed, its Circular Pool in Dales Gorge in Karajini NP. Absolutely stunning place, on the plains above its dry, dusty and red, at the bottom of the gorge its lush and green.
Nobody else is having a go, so I'll keep trying... havent been there but was reading about old abandoned mining sites and ghost towns. There was apparently a mine at Barrossa, but the country doesnt look right, how about Echunga?
Am I missing some posts or just a bit thick. One minutee it is in S.A. but not in Carnarvon whcih hasn't been mentioned.
Now its in W.A.
Carnarvon was mentioned and when answering that post, I somehow deleted it! OK, sorry if I have given some misleading info. It certainly is in WA and I'm afraid it's waaay north of Ora Banda and Leinster. Hope that clears it all up and that i'm back in the good books!

Ok, well that clear it up, There is a post missing. Will keep thinking.
Thanks for that. It seems a little tough, so as another bit of a clue - the photo was taken from a souvenir tourist information shop on site. The mine was closed in the 50's and is not accessable to the public
