RE: PICK THIS PLACE

20210106_123830.jpgYes, it is Tamrookum - All Saints Anglican Church.  It was built as a memorial to pastoralist R.M. Collins who was part of the North Australian Pastoral Co. and part of the National Parks movement.  R.M. Collins passed away in 1913.  Tamrookum is 88.6klm from Brisbane and 19.4Klm from Beaudesert.  We did a day trip to the Beaudesert area from home in Toowoomba, had a Devonshire tea at the Beaudesert Information Centre, picked up a scenic drive brochure from the lovely ladies at the centre and this church was one of the places of interest along with The Lost World.  Check it out.  Lovely countryside.

Funny, the closer to homes (in the olden days) the harder it gets to Pick this Place. I know Tamrookum well, having lived in Jimboomba for over 10 years. Knew the photo, knew the church, just could not put a name to it.

Now, to BillB's picture. Is it Lake Moondarra at Mt Isa?

I don't know, so someone else have a guess. I just thought Barossa Valley because of all the grape vines.

Hi, so not Barossa or Harndorf, but yes a wine producing area in South Australia.  I will post another picture which may give you a helping hand. This is the view from the very prominent nearby structure.

No guesses yet. Time for some clues. This town is only about 40 - 50 klms from a large city and is a popular destination for a weekend lunch.

Well in that case it would be the historical Morpeth Bridge NSW.

Thank you, 20 years nearly to the day we dine there one Sunday with a bunch of 30 long time friends, how time flys.

How about this one, when I saw the building my immediate thought was the town is dying but no it is quite alive with low cost race cource camping.
