RE: PICK THIS PLACE

Think I saw that in Coober Pedy in one of the dug outs.

You have the location correct Dunmowin.

Are you able to pin down the name of who's dugout it is/was. He was both a well known character, & by all accounts a bit of a sleaze.Tina Turner was reputed to have left a pair of her knickers there for him, during the filming of one of the Mad Max movies.

Crocodile Harry's Underground Nest and Dugout - so google tells me. I honestly dont recall it from either of our trips to Coober Pedy though.

ooh, what has happened to my font?

Spot on Dunmowin! Croc Harrys it was. My son & I were on a motorcycle trip up through the centre to Darwiin in 2000 & whilst stopped in Coober Pedy did a half day tour which included Croc Harrys. I recall the tour guide warning the women on the tour to keep their distance from Harry if he had been drinking!

Your turn again.

Thanks Cuppa, try this one out.

DSCF3540.JPGI am sure a lot of us have been here, or had it on their bucket list!
Where is this rock structure? Bonus points if you know the words on the plaque.

why yes cuppa, there were a few hints thrown in, even when i said "I am sure a lot of us have been here, or had it on their bucket list! "
The reference to HAD not HAVE it on their bucket list.

Hutt River Province is no longer open to the public, after the passing of Prince Leonard. The Principality of Hutt River, often referred to by its former name, the Hutt River Province, was a micronation in Australia. The principality claimed to be an independent sovereign state, founded on 21 April 1970. It was dissolved on 3 August 2020.

As to my stone structure, Prince Leonard gave us directions for a hike of (however) many KMs from the property to his hill, where this structure "gateway to heaven" had been built. It was a pretty full on hike, I suffered from heat exhaustion on the way back down.

The plaque on the gate reads: For the gate is Narrow! Matt 7:13  Can you go through the gate?

In those days, yes, we did manage to go through, however, 10 years on and a few more kilo spread, I doubt if I could go through the narrow gate.

Time for a cuppa Cuppa.

Thanks Dunmowin, I have my morning coffee to hand, brought to me in bed by my lovely wife, MrsTea. (It was my turn).

I didn't know the Casleys had sold the place , until I had a look a their web site, after I had picked your easier 'Hutt' clue.

We visited there & had our passports stamped in 2009.

Moving along here is a photo from a high lookout spot. Which town are we looking at?
