Re-post.

100_0100.jpgRe-posting a Pic I posted a while ago as xina, to see if Wombats' solution worked.

Here goes.

Well that didn't work Wombat.  All I can still see is the red cross.  I'm open to more suggestions.

Cheers,
Sheba.

I know it is Jonathon, but I haven't been able to find where the problem is to rectify it.  It just happened one day, and I hadn't changed anything.  Some Pics I can see, but not all, and none of my own.

Cheers,
Sheba.

Good morning Sheba ..

Sorry about that .. I hadn't read the details about this problem that were on another thread ..
I too have had a few unexplained 'happenings' on my computer when using this site .. but nothing too drastic ..
Recently I've had to use a different computer .. one which is based on Windows 7 .. I'm now unable to 'save' my login details as well as being able to see which threads I had already viewed .. If I use the other computer (now repaired) which runs on XP, everything is just fine ..
Maybe its a 'seasonal' effect .. heh !  Will keep my eyes/ears open though .. see if I hear anything ..

Very clear photo here, looks like my little one against my daughters rotty yesterday.
Why don't you take your computer into a terchnician shop and get them to explain, most of them are very good and will not charge.

No worries Jonathon.  Printing out Wombats' tips at the moment, so maybe this time I'll be able to fix it.

Cheers,
Sheba.

Hi Wombat.  I can see the Pic you posted with added Caption.    How come ?

I LOVE THAT CAPTION !!!

Sorry I'm so late replying, but I don't usually get on 'til late afternoon, and I'm a bit later than normal today.   Can't remember if I re-started or not last time.

I'm still on XP.  Can't see the point of having to learn a new system 'til I have to.

Have printed the most recent info. you posted, so will try that in a little while.  Will let you know how I go later on.

Thanks for all your help.   Not good being such a dummy.

Cheers,
Sheba.

No problems Sheba, whenever you get the time to do those things to try and get your pics showing.

The pics I posted were from Photobucket, why not go open an account (its free) and try uploading from there to see if you can then see your own pics, is it just your own pics that you cannot see?

and only being on XP is not a problem, I am only on Vista, I also don't see any point in changing until I have to.

http://photobucket.com/ for your info

Hi Wombat, here goes.

Did the File-type check, and the address value was slightly different to the one at the top of the table.

http://activeboard.com/    was added to the bottom one at the beginning.

Would this make adifference ?

Then in Internet Options, in the Multimedia section, the Show Pictures box is ticked.
Does "selected" mean ticked or not ticked ?

Then in Internet Options again, clicked the Security tab, and Default Level is greyed out.  Should it be ?

Had to use Photobucket on another Forum 'til they simplified things.  Don't like having to use it.  I'm a person who needs things as simple as possible I'm afraid.

Just had a thought.  Maybe I inadvertantly did something then to stop pics. showing any other way.  Is that possible ?     If so, what would I have done ?

Thanks,
Sheba.

Hi Sheba, what do you mean by slightly different?

What browser are u using?

Default level should be greyed out

http://www.activeboard is this where you store your pics?

try this, go into photobucket put your cursor over a any pic and move your mouse down until you can left click the IMG code, then come back in here and right mouse click and select paste and then Submit Post, can you now see your pic in this topic?
You MUST be using the IMG code to post in this forum

Re "Slightly different".

In Properties,    General.

downloadspark?ID=847841&aBID=51933

Address URL.

How do I find out what Browser I'm using ?

I've got Google as my Home-page.

I don't really want to have to use Photobucket.

Cheers,
Sheba.

Hi Sheba,

Re your web browser, when you have your Google page open look at the top left corner it will say the name of the browser see below

How are you trying to post pics in Grey Nomads?

When you say In Properties, General, how do you get to this?

downloadspark is a forum building program and should have nothing to do with posting pics.

I do not want you to use photobucket all the time, just want you to try it to see if it allows you to post pics with the IMG tag, if it does then we will know what the problem is and can look for another program that does the same thing, so go and have one try with photobucket, if you are not sure how to use it let me know.

Why wouldn't you want to use photobucket Sheba. Its a fantastic site where you can do all sorts with your photos.
I have thousands of photos stored there, they are protected, others can't see them if you tick the correct boxes.
And its all free.

Morning HW, I think PB is great but for some reason Sheba does not like it, its great once you know how it works and it is really easy to use.

Hi wombat, hope you had a great Xmas.
Yes I find photobucket so good. I think it was you who got me onto it initially on RC. I have been able to adjust photos, play around with them and do things I had no idea you could do. Even to the extent of having some printed and now on my wall.
Wouldn't be without it now, although I am able to get photos straight from My Pictures on to here without going through photobucket.
