Loved Welcom's signature..." I always leave my camping spots cleaner than when I found them" Goodonya Jimbo!
I carry latex disposable gloves, to start with for first aid if needed, but lately have been using them to pick up stuff at free camps and rest stops. Its really not too much trouble, goes in a plastic bag then into the first garbage bin we see.
Cant have the travelling public blaming Grey Nomads if they see us leave and its filthy!
Couldnt agree more - its not too difficult to take a plastic bag or a bucket when you go for your walk and pick up a bit of rubbish that others have left behind...

Thanks Gerty! I have a shirt that looks like a rangers shirt..Given to me by the Local Aboriginel Rangers......A few years ago there was an Unruly bunch of young stupid city kids Throwing thrash around Christies Beach Echuca on the murray....I walked up to them and said I was taking their Rego numbers for reporting to Local Authorities....I never said I was a Ranger Just let them assume.....They cleaned it up right there and then......Good thing they were'nt nasty or I could have been in trouble.......
I know the Government are only looking for reasons to close free parking in and around the Murray

I agree with the comments but some councils and national parks do not help when they take bins and skips away from these areas especially at tourist peaks like xmas and easter and expect you to take your rubbish many klms away to council tips. They make enough out of tourists and to have a few bins around the river is not toooo much to ask, especially in echuca.
I like to leave places cleaner than they were when I arrived. Its sad that people trash the than place thet they love. What can you do , except clean up-It does make you feel better when you leave.......
CMCA is now providing printed rubbish bags at no charge to members who request them. These let the local authorities know that the rubbish was picked up by someone else.
Last year when I was at Kurrimine Beach (Nth Qld), the Cassawary Coast Regional Council had removed all the fish cleaning bins from both boat ramps. This meant that the only place to dispose of the fish scraps was to throw them back into the water.
So much for this council claiming it encourages tourism and environmental responsibility.
On the way home we stopped at a nice quite road side stop, 6.30 the next morn,I hear the garbo truck picking up the bin , with the noise of bottles crashing ect. I walk out with my cupper and there beside the bin was a old suitcase some bags off rubish. It took me 2 min. to put them in the bin.. Why didnt the driver do that, that rubbish would have been spread all over by the next pick up..people are just to lazy and its some one eles rubish, keep up the good work people, will we win ,I doute it, but it makes me feel better...Bob

It's pretty sad when you have to clean up after thoughtless people!!!As a rule we always try to camp in the bush rather than in areas where travellers stop.Seeing toilet paper drapped all over the place is,shall we say, "not nice"!!Makes you wonder what their homes are like!
