Does anyone know if the roads between Dubbo and Brisbane are all open or if any are affected by the floods? Son is heading that way in the next day or two. He was wondering what the situation is the QLD end.
Maybe there are forum members in the Moree/Goondiwindi/Warwick area with some up to date local knowledge but in the absence any better info it may a case of travelling via the Oxley/New England Highways.
Queensland site is showing no problems Moree / Goodiwindi / Toowoomba / Brisbane , there have been issue of late with the Warwick / Brisbane section with slips on the Cunningham Gap , I would go via Toowoomba anyway
Don't know how much local knowledge your son has of the Goondi area but to get onto the Gore Highway at Goondi to go via Toowoomba it is necessary to first get onto the Leichhardt Highway....turn left onto Boundary Road just past the big BP after the even bigger roundabout, after that follow the signs.
My directions were for travelling from Dubbo to Brisbane....
Not sure of the way through Toowoomba but He'll need to get onto the Gore Highway that runs direct from Toowoomba to Goondi. I think the way around Goondi is well signposted.
Son is safely back in Brissie. He ended up playing it safe and headed through Armidale and then up the coast just to be sure. Lots of rain still happening up that way. Thanks for info.
If you are using the Newell - one issue is Cunninghams Gap - it is apparently on "stop and go", but traffic is getting through - just need to be careful with water over the road wherever you travel at the moment.

I think I heard on the ABC on the way home from Rocky today, that the Gap was cut in 3 places, with Landslides.
