Went from 1.39 yesterday when I filled up to 1.49 this morning - I just logged on to post a fuel comparison with other OECD countries and will post that separate. I e-mailed a mate in Scotland yesterday and he said that they are paying $2.10 Aust per litre

last week in Tassie 142.9 cpl when left on Tuesday was 149.9cpl and here in Perth filled up last nite 149.9cpl. I think it will go up more with Easter just around the corner.
Can find price for Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow after 1400
PS and supply and demand is what makes diesel price so high you need to take into concideration not just our back yard but the world and anyone that has traveled in sout east asia as example will be aware of how much diesel traffic is on the road also industy use is higher for diesel world wide.

Just filled up here in Townsville ready for the trip home, and diesel was $144.9/Lt, but another servo had it for $147.9/Lt.
What makes us wonder is, with the 'fuss' in the Middle East, and the cost of crude rising, why does our fuel go up today, when what we put into our tanks today was paid for by the fuel companies weeks/months ago, and the fuel they purchase today will not be in the servo's tanks for weeks/months by the time it is loaded/shipped/refined and then transported around the country.

If diesel is easier to make than petrol, then why is it more expensive?
Bill, dont know the figures but the amount of diesel used may exceed the petrol, not only the diesel vehicles that we drive, think about the transport, mining & argriculture that all use it.I can remember before they started to fit small diesels in passenger cars diesel was a industrial fuel & cheep as. Once they were fitted to the passenger cars the government said you beauty, lets jack up the price, & here we have it.

I tried to make my own biodiesel, a few years ago, and had resonable sucess, but gave it up because of the work involved. It was costing me 28c a ltr, but chasing the fat, and making the diesel drove me off it.I try to buy in bulk. I am still using the fuel I bought for $1.29 in Warick, on the way back from the last trip.It helps to have a 128 ltr tank and a couple of jerry cans. Some bloke was turning coal gas into diesel for 40c a ltr at Dalby.Diesel is $1. 62 on the island where I live! Can someone stop the bloody rain , please!

Somebody is taking the opportunity to make a profit! Same as bananas.
I thought there was an enquiry into fuel prices? Looks like nothing has changed.
Hi The servo at Tree tops shopping centre on the gold coast was 154.9 this morning. Filled yesterday at the servo attached to Pacific fair shopping centre 135.9, huge difference They are just the modern day robber barons
I usually pay 1.32 for unleaded here in Echuca/Moama, haven't bought any for a while so not sure what it is but the paper said it would rise this week.
Bananas at Woollies in Salisbury, SA $10 a kilo. What gets me mad about the fuel prices is, the tanker unloads the fuel into the tank at the servo for eg $1/litre on Monday. The retail price eg $1.32/lire. The garage is still selling that same fuel on Thursday, but it now costs the motorist $1.42/litre. That can only be described as robbery.

G'day Jimbo, fuel on the Tweed coast averaging 1.50+ depending on what day they want to rip you off further Here we all live in a country full of natural resources and we are importing petroleum products when we have enormous LPG and LNG in the ground. Even here the companies are exploiting this source of supply as it doesnt have much in govt taxes attached to it. 10 years ago it was 11c a litre in Victoria........ask any taxi company what fuel they run on! Mate, dont let a fuel increase spoil your travel plans. For me it equates to $8.00 extra to travel 750k's..... cheers, ozi2
Oz12 It is not going too stop at this price...I can afford any price..It's a matter of principal with me....I hate the idea of contributing to fat cats.....If the truth be know...There is nothing we can't make here. we do not need the whacky World in the northern Hemisphere
