Mate called today to tell me his 1500kg van was due for rego and it had gone from $320.00 in 2010 to $416.00 2011 , that's near enough to a 25% increase for what, more pot holed roads and privately operated toll ways , give me a break.
They are good aren't they something which for most people would spend less than 10 driving days on the road PA.
What are they paying in other states

I think NSW has the highest rego fees in this country. And what do you get for your money? You summed it up pretty well from my observations as I travelled through the state. The roads are sealed but there is only a little bit of bitumen between the pot holes. So I don't know if you're really getting you money's worth. Get over the border and change it. And ......... you won't have to go over the pits every year to renew rego. That's enough to blow the budget before you even leave home. Safe travels.

Thought to myself "Wombat's gotta be in NSW -checked your profile and sure enough - got it in one. From memory I think its about $80 here in QLD for a pensioner.

My little Leisure Lite Trailer was $82.70 last year. It's due again in April so it'll be interesting to see if that price stays. I think that's way too much for such a little rig.
My i30 costs $495.30 with the pensioner concession.
And still we have to dodge potholes!
I'm in Qld.

I believe if your van is in your wife's name and you are a pensioner the rego is free. You only have to pay for the pink slip each year if van is older than 5 years. I am trying to get swmbo to sell her car but she keeps saying that is not costing her anything.
