Talking to our daughter on the phone just now. They have been away on a camping trip in a tent, which they enjoyed immensely. They are thinking, in the future, of buying a camper trailer. I gave them my old box trailer last year which is registered in QLD. Now to the question. What does it cost to register a camper trailer in NSW. What does it cost to register a box trailer? (We will probably continue to pay the rego on the box trailer and keep it registered in QLD). Would it be worth the while to register the camper in QLD using our address? Is this legal/tolerated? cheers pete

Peter I could see no problem with what you are doing the trailer is in your name and registed to your address but it is in NSW at the moment , In queensland if you want to register a vichile you must supply a electricy bill or Gas bill to prove you live at the address supply , they may not do that in other states
When I registered Myrtle the other day I had to show my drivers license and show the address was the same as where she would be housed, most of the time.
to register my 7x5 box trailer in NSW is about $45.00. Where if you call it a camper trailer of van the sky is the limit. Bit silly when you consider a camper trailer is really only a box trailer with a tent fit over it .
If it rates as a box trailer then the rego is cheaper and no annual inspection required. Surprised the State Labor Govt has missed this revenue stream to pay for the perks of office
