A request for casual observers can keep and eye out for my stolen bus. Cheers Bert
A TOYOTA COASTER BUS WAS STOLEN FROM THE CAR PARK NEXT TO THE COURT HOUSE IN BYRON BAY ABOUT 7PM ON SUNDAY NIGHT. THE RED,WHITE AND BLUE BUS WAS FULL OF BUILDERS TOOLS AND THE OWNERS LIFE!! ANY INFO LEADING TO IT'S WHEREABOUTS WILL BE HANDSOMELY REWARDED. REGO PLATES AU 38 AH PH. 0415 499 531, 0402 502 829 OR EMAIL bertmido@yahoo.com.au
Sorry to hear that. It's heartbreaking for so many reasons. Bloody mongrels! How did they get it? I hope the Police are on to it. With the cameras over highways these days, the chances of getting it back are pretty high. I don't know if anything will be in it though. I'll keep on eye on the park here too, just in case they're silly enough to pull into a park. The bus is probably in a shed being rubbed back and resprayed right now, and the tools will go on ebay. Stay calm and I hope it works out for you.

What a damn shame, we will all be looking out for the bus no matter where we live. They could go anywhere with her, the mongrels. Have taken special note of details.
Will keep an eye out down here in Western Vic/South East SA for ya mate....
Hope one of us spots it and get there before the wallopers so we can sort the mongrel who did the job out before handing them over... nothing works better than tribal justice.

Hi A R, We were in bundaberg today and since we have been on G N we have been keeping a close eye on travelers in vans and motor homes hoping to spot a G N sticker. Now,i don't know for sure that it was your van, but i did notice one similar to it today. If it s in the hands of the police, i would suggest that you ask the bundy cops to have a good look around for it. Hope this may be of help to you mate and i hope they catch the low bastards. Cheers mate, Rob.
Thank you Rob, thanks for post. It does help. It is the second heads up today from another source posting a message on the facebook page http://www.facebook.com/therealbyronbay.
Have reference no. from my initial report to Byron coppers and going to notify Bundy cops to let them know of the possibility.
So well appreciated and to all who have been keeping keen eyes. I will keep everyone posted.
Just letting you know that I too emailed all of my contacts on Wednesday night as soon as I read your post and they are disgusted by the theft and happy to keep an eye out in their travels.
This technology networking is good stuff. There are eyes and ears everywhere. I hope you get your bus back and they catch the low mongrels. A couple of weeks ago 2 blokes walked into this park and casually walked a camper trailer out under the boom gate, and hitched up to their vehicle in the car park outside the gates. Security cameras got them, but I don't think they've been caught yet. The odd thing is the trailer was only just bought by fellow park dwellers and wasn't registered yet. So someone had to be casing the joint to know it was there, as it wasn't in view from the main road in the park. It wasn't even a flash, fancy camper trailer, it was just a home-made one. Now they've put a camera outside the ladies bathroom to catch a "Tom Peeper". What next?

My lttle Gypsy could easily be lifted by 2 blokes. No way to secure it really.
As for the peeper, I hope they catch him and the women get to deal with him!
Well Beth, there is a way to secure your little Gypsy. You can get tow hitch locks. They're not very expensive, available in the trailer section of the nearest auto shop like Repco, Super Cheap Auto or Auto Pro etc. If you're parking it up for any length of time you can drive/hammer a star picket in at the V" of the A frame, if you get my meaning. It adds just enough resistence to urge the would-be thieves to move on to some other booty. You can chain it by the wheel rims to a solid post structure in your garage, carport or verandah at home. Anything that's a slight deterrent to make what would be an easy steal, a tougher steal, should send them on their way.
