I have never liked dogs but wife has always owned one. I never hurt or abused the dogs we had. Last one we had died 4 years ago, which was good timing because we started travelling shortly there after. I always scoffed at people travelling with a dog.
Now the reason for this post my wife went interstate a week ago to vist rellies won't be back for another week. Same day wife left my daughter asked me to look after a dog 8 weeks old that she has had only 2 days. She had to go WA for work. Just great I think. She shows up with a ball of fluff that would sit in your hand I asked what she paid for it when she said $300 I had to laugh. Any way no matter where I went this dog would be there. I would push it out of the way with my foot and it would just roll over. It would just sit and stare and wag its little tail. It never barked or winge. I had this dog for five days. Now my problem. How do you tell the wife that we are $500 dollars short in our travel money and we now own a ball of fluff. I can't believe how quick your attitude can change. This little ball of fluff has changed my out look on dogs completely. When my daughter came to pick up the dog I did not give her a choice I said there is $500 and Im keeping the dog
She nearly wet herself with laughing.
Name of dog TAI pronounced tie.

Hahaha!! Conspiracy theory. I wonder why daughter was laughing so much. Maybe mother / daughter hatched this one together. Mum goes away, daughter dumps dog on you while alone, you've got no choice but to love it. Why would daughter get a dog 2 days before going away for work, it was only 8 weeks old, needed to be looked after. I smell something fishy going on here. Enjoy you little ball of fluff. You've been had!!!!
LOVE THIS STORY! I think you've been 'had' big time, but what does it matter? That little ball of fluff will bring you years of love and pleasure, you won't regret your decision. And as a bonus you will be in the good books with your wife for a l-o-n-g time. I bet your daughter didn't expect to make a quick $200 on the well executed plan, though! Jan
Funny..I was conned too.....I have 2 cats.......both from 2 of my daughters.......the cats are great....but they are a tie....I cant go away more than 4 days........someone gotta look after them......they have plenty of food and lots of water.....to last 4 days.....always food left when we get home.
I had dogs for 25 years....not getting another......would like to find homes for my 2 cats......
It funny how something that depend on you for all it needs can win your heart .. good on you for opening your heart to this little ball of fuff ... i bet those little eyes melt your heart evey time you look into them ......

ha, ha, ha, Mate that makes me feel so much better after our $700.00 vet bill yesterday..........FOR A CAT and until this one I have never understood the creature's but he is such a joy that it was worth it.
Hi Al, I can relate to your story. Good on you, dogs are such good company. We have another four legged friend after swearing we wouldn't get a new one after we lost our dog, and I can relate to ozi2 spending that amount of money on a beloved pet. We spent $2500 getting one of our dogs hip mended after he was hit by a car. Pets are well worth the money spent on them.
When I hear about cute little dogs, I want one too. Then I hear about the cost when something happens...like my son and d-i-ls $1500 cat..vet bill..and sadly realize it's just not feasible on a pension. Also, one is restricted so much while travelling.
Great story Al! Enjoy!
