I was mowing the lawn and Dero was nowhere to be seen. Eventually he come wandering down the back to me and asks if I've been having trouble with my 'puter. I said no... why? He tells me someone from microsoft had called to inform us that our 'puter was full of virus'. No way, I said. He said there must be as microsoft had called...had all our serial numbers etc. He had gone into some of our files, because he'd been asked to....then when they said they could fix them...asked for credit card numbers....THATS when he thought to ask me about it. Thank goodness we do no banking or anything on line.... The files they did get from him meant nothing... I don't know enough about the 'puter to use it that much.. For once, I am thankful for that... He's still cranky at himself for being conned. He rang microsoft and they said they NEVER ring people, and it was a hacker. Cheers Dellie

Wow! that was close. Mr D decided to buy a new laptop last week, and the only reason he didnt order a Dell was the delay in delivery. We're leaving in 3 weeks and need it before then, so he got one locally that hes very pleased with, and we didnt give any information to Dell.
DellieMay I had the same phone call only 2 or 3 days ago. Thank goodness had read a bit about the scam. Was a woman with an indian accent. First I had to ask her to stop and speak slowly as couldn't understand a word she was saying. Then when I did realise, I tried to butt in on her speel!!. In the end I told her to shut up and listen to me. I know this is a scam, and I have no intention of going into my computer for you. She hung up before I could say anything else.
