GREY NOMADS EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS - CANCELLATION

HI EVERYONE I have just joined several Forums but am now drowning in high numbers of emails, which are draining my email account. I have written to the Editor of this site for assistance in cancelling emails has not resulted in replies. As we are heading off soon, I don't want to spend each day deleting numerous emails. My attempts in changing the Settings has not worked either. Any help in how I can avoid receiving emails, or cancelling Forum membership would be appreciated. Thanks. Maria

I don't get emails at all from this site or any other forum I belong to. There are settings which should be clicked a certain way to stop it but you say you have tried that. Have you emailed the webmaster here who should be able to help you.

Just a thought...
When you changed the settings, are you certain that you clicked on the "save changes" button. It would be easy to overlook.

Maria - Check your settings, make sure 'Email digest of new topics' is set to None.

Maybe you are being spammed by someone not associated in any way with this forum (and maybe the other forums too).  I have never been spammed, received nuisance emails, or nuisance private messages from anyone identified with this forum.

Perhaps you need to change your email address (a pain in the a... I know) and take more care who you advise, especially jokes and circular emails. Check out this Australian Government website... http://www.scamwatch.gov.au

(addendum) Oops!  I just re-read your original post, so, depending on how I interpreted it the above comments may be irrelevant but I've left them up just in case.

I'm a member of 10 different forums  ( certainly not all caravan type forums ) , and don't get unwanted emails from any of them .

Maybe you ticked or marked something when you first joined . Some have provision for sending you an email whenever there is a post on any thread you have contributed to .

Funny after saying above I don't get any, today started getting emails from Facebook everytime I got a message on there. Never happened before. I immediatley went into my settings on Facebook, found a lot of notifications ticked. I unticked them all and saved, so shouldn't be any more trouble.

i use gmail, that way all mail stays on the server, but there must be some
setting some where and i too have the od trouble with facebook settings

I haven't had that problem on here. I get bursts of activity from My Space, but nothing overwhelming I can't deal with.
Maybe you are just the kind of people who get all the attention.
