Trying to access Googles Friend Connect?

Hi Everyone,

We have been following a few intrepid Aussie Nomad blogs and wanted to connect with them by using Google's Friend Connect...but whenever we try to join it tells us either Error 404 or 'Cannot connect to site' etc etc. It very frustrating and I cannot work out the reason.

We are using Mozilla Thunderbird as our browser and wonder if that could be the cause?

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Cheers,

Welcome to the Grey Nomads Forum Lynne and Dennnis. I hope you enjoy your stay.
Tell us a bit about your travel plans and lifestyle.
As for Google Friend Connect, I can't help. I don't understand what's going on for you.
I have Mozilla Firefox and don't have too many problems with it. I have a few hassles with the Bigpond Internet at times, but that's a given.

Did the Thunderbird program recently upgrade?

I did the upgrade for Firefox a couple of days ago and could not access Hotmail, now reinstalled eairler version of FF and all is ok, could be the Thunderbird program, try using IE to get into Google's Friend Connect, it may work.

I have not tried the Google's Friend Connect, so this is only a guess.

Hi Wombat....no I haven't upgraded recently? Probably a month or two ago. Thanks for the hint, I'll try IE and see what happens.

I did google the problem and it seems I'm not the only one experiencing it....just when you think you've got the 'puter thing figured out something else comes along ...LOLblankstare
