Good cheap campsites in SE QLD

Maryborough Showgrounds - Nice clean and tidy, access off highway just north of Maryborough. $18 per night. Caretaker on site so fairly secure. We've stayed here for a couple of weeks and at the most only 3 vans here, all passing through.

Standown Park Caravan Park - Almost exactly half way between Gympie and Tin Can Bay. What a great spot, quiet,  clean and tidy. Rod and Pam are fantastic hosts, happy hour to beat all happy hours. We were to stay 1 night ended up staying 3 weeks. $18 per night or if a ex serviceman $15 per night. They don't come any better.

Cheers Ross and Karen

 Gday...

I was looking for this post all afternoon and couldn't find it .... have just stumbled over it now.

I had thought of visiting Marybough and staying at the Showgrounds but could not find anything about it on the net .... the website for the Maryborough showgrounds seemed to inform that camping was only for those organising 'events' ....

I therefore assume from this post the showgrounds are available to travellers?

Would love to find it is available.

Cheers

John
