Screeming Gale In SA

It's a wet, windy Sunday, and a great day to settle in with a move and a cuddle. I have the movie, but ...........
It's blowing a gale at the centre of a low pressure system, similar to a category 1 cyclone.
I've battened down the awning, leaving the rest to the elements.
My first winter since '96 has started early and I don't like it.

Wet Sunday here in SE Qld too - but up at 6am to do a market at our local show, there till 3pm - did quite well - absolutely wrecked now, having been at the show , working in dining room from 5pm Friday night, from 6am till 4pm Saturday, and walking around the market with daughter and three grandsons on Saturday night till 9.30.
Oh, well - sleep in tomorrow - hopefully!!!!
Must say I am glad to be in Queensland with the winter coming on - don't really think I coudl do another Southern winter somehow.

The last two days were the hottest I had experienced for a while. Coming though Goondi south to Narrabri. Others were commenting on it as well. The nights weren't cold either. First night I have slept in van without dressing gown on all night.
I know it will get colder the more south I go, hope I don't get any of the SA storm before I get home.

You're probably copping it harder down there along the coast then on the north side.
They did say something about higher storm tides, so I guess the sand is moving again.
Hang on, drop the anchor with a bit more rope, and find a warm dry spot to squat.

The Driver stayed in Mildura, last night, on way back from quick visit to Broken Hill. He reported that the area out front of his motel was floodedthis morning from really heavy overnight rain. Said he drove through solid rain until he got the Melbourne side of Bendigo. Haven't had anything like that here in Melbourne - maybe it is still on the way?

A good day for baking that lovely cake.
Fellow GN's, this lovely couple shared cake and a cuppa with me last Sunday. If ever you get an invite, take it. Ann cooks a great cake.

We went across the Nullarbor in 2005, cold all the way - really spoiled the trip, and Perth was awash! Couldn't wait to get out of there and head North. Might get back there one day - in better weather though.
SE Qld - last five days - Friday - nice, Saturday, nice, Sunday, rain, Monday, rain, Tuesday - sunshine!!!!! (still a bit cool though)
