...you can't remember the name of a caravan park!!
We followed the rickety blue 'caravan' sign off the highway pointing towards the ocean several k's away. We passed through a small village with one tiny shop, the road became dirt and we then arrived at a small, quaint, old fashioned carvan park nestled at the back of low sand dunes. We sat watching the surf and miles of empty beach, watched a man and his cattle dog cut down Pandanus fruit (can't remember what he said he was going to do with them?), took some snaps and after our short 20min visit we left (didn't have the van that day), but it has stuck in my mind for the past 5 years and I would love to go back with the van......it was nothing fancy, no BIG 4 here but it was the kind of CP that you could just put your feet up, relax, fish and let the world pass you by, the kind I remembered from my childhood..
What I do remember was it was on the north side of Coffs Harbour.....but I don't know how far out it was? And I THINK (only think) that there may have been a big pub near the highway where we turned off?
I know I'm testing you guys but hope that someone will know of the mystery park?
I think I know the one you describe it,s at Coridi Beach. The Pub on the highway is called the Amble Inn Tavern ,serves a great lunch and cold beer There were a heaps of van parks Nth of Coffs that fit the description but after 5 years the area has changed I stay at the Lorrikeet Van Park great facilities and a short walk on a well maintained park to the beach and fishing spots
Others in the area are Red Rock,Arrawarra,Mullaway, Woolgoolga

I would say its either Corindi or Red Rock - my pick of the places is Red Rock, as it is several k's down the road from Corindi... We stayed there over easter and it hasnt changed much

Red Rock is the pick of the two of them, simply because of the price, they arte both in glorious locations but Red Rock is way cheaper and they offer senior discount.

Is Red Rock cheaper than Corindi GS? We stayed there a couple of months ago (Corindi that is) and it was only $27pn. Good sites, very clean amenities and the view is spectacular.
We paid $22.00 a night at Red Rock in March, Seniors rate, they give a discount for Seniors card but not pensioner, (sorta cant work that one out) I have both cards so it didn't matter.

I too have had this happen (elsewhere) with a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and had to produce the NSW Seniors Card. Like you I can't work it out either.
NSW Seniors is for over 60 and not in paid work for more than 20 hours per week. Aged pension is 65, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card is also 65 and for those not eligible for full or part aged pension due to means test, it too is subject to a (more generous) means test.

People on the dole and single parents also have a "pension card" for allowance eligibility. The seniors card is a more accurate description of what the discount is all about. I've had an Australian Seniors Card since I was 55. It's a membership which also provides discounts in many places. It's well worth it for the benefits over the long term. The Federal Government card is allocated to the 65 year olds for free. States have their own as Jim Richo mentioned.

The Vic state Seniors card is given to everybody over either 55 or 60. Forgotten now how long I've had it. But everyone gets it regardless of income, my brother in law was surprised to get it and he's a millionaire.

Apart from some public transport discounts, Seniors Card discounts are provided by the various private enterprise outlets that offer them, not from government collected taxes, so I see no reason to deny anyone a Seniors Card on the grounds of their means other than to satisfy the politics of envy.
