Well I have read your posts and I am very envious of you all. I have an almost vintage van 12' including drawbar very comfortable but basic, an annex n awning if needed. Shower tent porta loo n bush shower, 3 way fridge n all towed by a 1997 Toyota. That is what I can afford n I want to head off. Any thoughts or suggestions?
The pod is the name of my baby van.
Which ever way you decide to turn TP it is one big adventure. How about turning left and then make another left into the driveway when you get back. So much to see and do between turns.
Good one Bill12 - or was he a transexual?????????????? Any The Pod - you sound pretty set to go - very envious - this time next year for me I reckon - you sound like you have everything under control - do you havce your copy of Camps 6? one of the best investments you can make - keep in touch - enjoy whatever you decide to do -

Welcome Therese to the GN's, Turn Right out of your driveway they say the big lap is shorter if you do it anticlockwise... All you gotta do is start, jump in there and go girl...
Wow thanks so much for the great welcome. I feel there is an extended family out there already. Just have the house n "stuff" to sort we collect a lot of "stuff" dont we. I'm a new Mexican , been here about 12 yrs love it. I look forward to meeting you all in the not too distant future.
To your original question, "Am I being foolish?" Definitely not! If your equipment is well-maintained and your know how to operate it, your are most definitely not being foolish. I'm often described as "brave", but foolish I definitely am not. It certainly sounds as though you are very well prepared. So if the real estate and furniture are all that's stopping you, it's only a matter of time before you're ready to hit the road. There are many singles, men and women, out there, as well as couples, young and not so young, just doing it. It becomes a lifestyle. Maybe do short trips, shake down trips, to being with until you feel confident in your rig and yourself, before you take on bigger distances and new scenery. Your only regret is putting it off too long. Welcome to the forum. Safe and happy travels.
