Hey fellow nomads! For the last week we've been caretaking a police museum in the lovely little town of Timber Creek which is half way between Kununurra & Katherine NT. We have our caravan out back hooked up to power & water with a drop dunny 50m away though our own shower is needed or use the one in town 2km away . The place is about 100m from the modern police station & officers residences so is quite secure.
We will be here for one more week then the museum will have to stay closed until more volunteers pop by to stay for a week or more, It has got a reputation of being closed too much so it would be nice to fix that as it has some great stuff in it and a good history. The times the museum is opened depends on how long we want it open, anything from a few hours a day to a full day so, we have plenty of time to tour the area which includes the Victoria River & Gregory Nat Park etc.
If any of you are up this way & need a beautiful place to take a break from the road then check out the add in the Volunteers section of this site or pop into the council building in town on your way through.
Cheers Jon
ps: 2 singles or couples are fine so one lot can open the place to allowed the others a break.
